The 7/7 memorial fails in its given location

In 2008, Paisajes Emergentes won an international competition for memorial and contemplative spaces with a work with columns, grounded as if on a tabula rasa marking a spiritual threshold.rnThe 7/7 memorial by Carmody Groarke in London aims at a similar concept but stands in what feels like a gravel pit off a putting green, but without the reverence. It is, of course, already inherently undermined by joining the multi-textural memorial clutter in and around the heavily trafficked Park Lane, which ultimately makes it oddly conceived in spirit and in scale against the neighbouring giant plane trees. With the passing tourist buses, is it just a sign post posing; as a memorial?
