Never underestimate the Jedi nature of architects: the AJ website had its most successful week ever, thanks to the architecture of- not Zaha Hadid or Norman Foster - but Star Wars. More than 30,000 people logged on to take a critical look at the built environment of a galaxy far, far away. Plus, in an online vote, the Second Death Star ('a pleasing return to classical symmetry... despite rumours of structural weakness') was named the 'greatest work of Star Wars architecture, beating off competition from an Ewok Village on Endor ('an exemplar of sustainable, low-tech development') and the rebel base on the frozen planet Hoth ('a vast igloo as if fashioned by Piranesi').
