In view of your article on Robin Hood Gardens (AJ 05.02.09), we would like to set the record straight on future plans for this regeneration project, which is designed to deliver new homes, improved education and community facilities and a park. The project is certainly not on hold as suggested. While there has been a lengthy and thorough process regarding Robin Hood Gardens and listing, much of the work on the regeneration project has continued, with project partners Tower Hamlets Council and the Homes and Communities Agency keen to proceed with planning and design work as a matter of urgency. This will start moving from the drawing board to the ground as soon as we know the outcome of the current Department of Culture, Media and Sport review relating to the granting of a certificate of immunity from listing for Robin Hood Gardens.
