The Exhibition Road surface is constructed from granite setts bedded with 40mm of mortar onto a 200mm-thick, fire-reinforced concrete substrate. The concrete base is formed into 25.35 x 7m bays, with two diagonal square patterns at the centre of the road. The setts are Chinese Granite, G663 (pink-grey), G684 (black), and G654 (grey). The majority of these are 150 × 150 × 150mm, with 100mm and 50mm-deep setts used over upstands and shallower construction along each side of the road.
