摘要

Halley VI is the most southerly science research station operated by the British Antarctic Survey (BAS). It represents a massive technical advancement on previous bases including a significant reduction in maintenance, energy consumption and environmental impact. In tandem with BAS objectives and the extraordinary demands of the harshest climate on earth, the construction and operation of the station had to meet the stringent requirements of the Antarctic Treaty environmental protocols.
