摘要

Interior fit-out and finishes experts are standing ready to help architects and their clients tackle the challenges the sector faces when it comes to walls, ceilings and partitions. Architects need to design workplace interiors that make people more productive. Simultaneously, they have to make the buildings more carbon and energy efficient, both through the materials used in construction and during their lifetime. Increasingly they are going to have achieve these aims cost-effectively by using BIM from design to managing the facility. The World Green Building Council's 2014 report Health, Wellbeing and Productivity in Offices was a useful reminder of what we all knew: good buildings make people more productive. We need to bear that in mind when designing and specifying office and workplace interiors; it's not just about colours and tone - light, temperature and acoustics will also feature too. The materials and processes specified for the fit-out can make a huge difference.
