This is the first purpose-built sake brewery in the UK, set in the grounds of the 18th-century Fordham Abbey manor house, a mixed landscape comprising old, not-so-old and new structures. The building is a departure point, defining the terms for the ongoing development of the whole estate. It is a striking, berry-red, single-aisled barn, housing a unique cultural process and also reinvigorating the site's historic fabric.
