DyStar® rolls out its sustainability Report 2014 to update

DyStar launched their Sustainability Report 2014 to update on their achieved progress in reducing their operational impacts. In 2010 DyStar published their first Sustainability Report and established concrete goals to reduce their energy and water consumption and their waste water and GHG emission by 20% by 2020.- Due to their commitment to their environmental stewardship and various improvements in their worldwide production sites and offices the energy consumption has been reduced by 21.5% and the GHG emission intensity by 14.8%. Due to the change of the product mix to more water intensive products, the water consumption has slightly increased compared to last year but on the other hand the water recycling could be improved by 9% compared to the previous year. Also, waste recycling programs have been implemented and improved in various production sites e.g. the facility in Nanjing, China recycled 83,480kg of waste.
