A DIAGONOSTIC REPORT ON CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM OF SHANTIPUR HANDLOOM CLUSTER: PART Ⅱ: CLUSTER STRUCTURE & RECOMMENDATIONS

摘要

This two-part series of papers reports on the duster development program of Shantipur handloom duster, district of Nadia, West Bengal to formulate a sustainable business plan as well as marketing plan to assist this historic duster to compete in the ever challenging textile business. In Part Ⅰ, the evolution/ historical back ground of the cluster, its geographical location, and existing production processes have been described. In order to facilitate formulation of a sustainable business-cum-marketing plan, the structure of the duster is analysed in this part followed by some recommendations in a holistic manner.
