Shanghaitex 2003 reflects China's rapid machinery industry growth

Shanghaitex 2003 the 10th International Exhibition on Textile Industry at Shanghai, was held from December 10 to 13, 2003. The new exhibition centre has been well designed with five big halls and four small sheds to accommodate local manufacturers. It provided all modern amenities for both the exhibitors and visitors. When I landed at Pudong Airport it was drizzling and the air was very cool. I was wondering why they should hold the international exhibition at this time of the year. Actually this exhibition should have taken place during May 2002, but was postponed following the SARS scare.
