Application of electroless nickel plating in textile design

摘要

An investigation of the possibility of applying electroless nickel plating to textile fabrics of various constructions. The effect of different fabric constructions on the appearance of electroless nickel-plated polyester fabrics is illustrated. Electroless nickel plating is now finding a variety of applications in several areas due to its extensive function in very wide aspects, with numerous benefits like providing light or RF reflectivity, electrical conductivity and decoration. It can be applied in different areas of the textile industry to confer different functional properties. Aesthetic properties play a vital role in fabric performance. Electroless nickel plating not only results in confering functional properties but also provides a unique metallic appearance.
