Industrial pollution

摘要

Contamination of groundwater is common in the low lying areas surrounded by industrial refuse-dumping sites. The rate of percolation through the soil is high. In order to assess the groundwater pollution by leachate around the refuse-dumping site, eighteen wells were selected for study. Also an attempt has been made to evaluate the effect of industrial effluents on the ground and surface water due to integrated Rourkela steel plant and other major industries.
