If We Don't Act Now... The Honeymoon May Soon Be Over!

As our industry continues to grow at a vigorous pace, we notice many growth pains that are common to all fast-growing industries. We have learned through trial and error that one of the most effective ways to become successful in anything is to remain focused at all cost. Therefore, the criteria for success shall remain in place as long as we are not distracted by anything that is irrelevant to the task at hand. In my March editorial column, I had mentioned that while focusing on Wall Street, many companies have forgotten Main Street. In preparation of this editorial, I contacted several industry leaders and I found the underlying reason for loss of focus seems to be getting distracted by the lucrative prospects of going public or otherwise getting involved in mergers and acquisitions.
