摘要

British Internet service providers (ISPs) have been enlisted to fight illegal file-sharing in the United Kingdom, as part of an effort to develop a "self-regulatory" regime to halt the sharing of pirated music. But also under consideration are more rigid regulatory options, including proposals to require ISPs to give information on alleged copyright infringers directly to rights holders, without court oversight, to require ISPs to take direct action against alleged infringers, or to implement filters to block infringing content.
