The method involves routing a user (1) bypass connection to the Internet service provider (ISP) when the user's wish for a connection to the Internet service provider is detected within the user's digital user line unit (DLU1). PDC bundle connections are formed within the digital user line unit; some are fed to higher level connection groups (LTG1,2), some to the ISP as a bypass connection (2).
