USTR Urged to Pursue Several Countries For Noncompliance With Telecom Trade Pacts

A number of countries are not living up to the telecommunications obligations outlined in trade agreements, according to representatives of U.S.-based operators, including China, Mexico, India, and Germany. Among the problems cited in comments filed with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative were high termination rates, slow movement on planned spectrum auctions, and foreign ownership limits and other market barriers.
