Sexting, Texting Dangers To Teen Use of Cellphones

Cyberbullying, sexting, texting while driving, and privacy violations are among the dangers children face when they use mobile technology, speakers said at a Dec. 14 forum sponsored by the FCC at a Washington, D.C., high school. Among those participating in the event were FCC officials, industry representatives, online safety ad vocates, researchers, educators, parents, and teens. "As with every revolutionary new technology, broad band Internet brings not only massive opportunities but some concerns," FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said at the event, which was held at McKinley Technology High School. "We all understand the 'lure of distraction.'"
