FCC, NTIA Plan PN Seeking 'Model City' Proposals

The FCC and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration are working on a public notice to solicit proposals for implementation of a "model city" program to spur spectrum sharing, an NTIA official said recently. During a Feb. 17 luncheon organized by the Federal Communications Bar Association's wireless committee, Paige Atkins, NTIA's associate administrator-Office of Spectrum Management, said the agencies hope to release the public notice by the end of March.
