FCC Seeks $358.3M Budget For FY 2017; Plan Boosts NTIA Funding, Shifts RUS Spending

The FCC would get nearly $358.3 million in fiscal year 2017 under a budget proposal released Feb. 9, including nearly $16.9 million to complete the relocation of its Washington headquarters to a new location or to reconfigure its existing offices to reduce space. The request for FY 2017, which begins Oct. 1, would compare with the $384 million that the FCC received in FY 2016, including more than $44 million for consolidation at its headquarters. All of the FCC's appropriations are covered by fees it imposes on parties, but Congress must approve the funding level.
