FCC Chairman Ajit Pai on Feb. 2 announced a pilot program in improving agency transparency by releasing to the public the texts of two draft items tentatively scheduled for votes at the agency's Feb. 23 meeting. The draft items in question are a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) on the voluntary use of the ATSC 3.0 "next-generation" broadcast television standard and a second report and order on the revitalization of the AM radio service, two of six items on the tentative agenda released on Feb. 2 (see separate story).
