TRACED Act Anti-Robocall Efforts Move Ahead on Several Fronts

The Hospital Robocall Protection Group (HRPG) created pursuant to the Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence Act of 2019 (TRACED Act) met July 27 for the first time, assigning members to three working groups that are tasked with developing best practices for addressing unwanted robocalls within 180 days for three types of stakeholders: telephone service providers, hospitals, and federal and state government agencies. Joseph DeLotto, vice president-voice and unified communications products for Charter Communications, Inc., will chair the service provider working group; John Riggi, senior adviser-cybersecurity and risk at the American Hospital Association, will chair the hospital working group; and Creecy Johnson, special deputy attorney general for North Carolina, will chair the government working group.
