Cisco Edged Out in IP Phone Market

Though Cisco might be winning the race for greater market share of PBX line shipments, it's trailing on IP phone sales, according to a report from Synergy Research Group covered by Network World. Cisco reportedly had 24.5% of the IP phone market in the second quarter of 2007, down from 25.2% in the first quarter. Avaya, meanwhile, saw its share of the IP phone market rise to 25.4% in the second quarter from 25.3% in the first quarter, according to the report.
