AT&T INSOURCES FOREIGN JOBS TO THE SOUTH

AT&T said it expects to complete by the summer a program to move back to the carrier's U.S. operating companies about 5,000 high-tech jobs that had been outsourced overseas. Most of the jobs now are in broadband-support centers in southern states. The carrier said the Communications Workers of America worked with the company to create competitive cost structures. Despite the sagging economy, AT&T continues to add jobs in parts of its business like wireless, video and broadband, it said.
