Decision on Right to Carry New York Sports Networks Is Mainly a Win for AT&T, Verizon

The FCC Media Bureau said AT&T and Verizon must have access to two HD regional nsports networks that carry the games of New York teams and used to be part of nCablevision. The bureau granted part of a complaint by the telcos against RSN's owner, nMadison Square Garden, which was part of Cablevision before it was separated nthis year. The orders rejected several allegations of unreasonableness in Cablevision and nMadison Square Garden's withholding from AT&T's U-Verse and Verizon's nFiOS pay-TV services the MSG and MSG+ channels in HD. But most of the defendants' nobjections to the complaint were rejected in the orders signed by bureau Chief Bill Lake.
