Student-led innovation center boosts start-ups, provides real-world experience

Universities go to great lengths and expense to provide the latest and greatest technology and tools for innovators, but students don't always have easy access and they often are not encouraged to work together on multidisciplinary projects. The engineering school at New Mexico State University is addressing those issues with a peer mentoring program that brings students together in a maker-space facility to collaborate on their innovations. The program is managed by students themselves, led by a group termed "Aggie Innovators" who oversee the entire operation.
