摘要

Recently, it has been extensively reported that fatigue cracks have been detected at coped steel girder ends, which are reinforced through the application of ribbed steel plate. However, in the conventional reinforcing method, the size of the reinforcing plate is not always sufficient due to the limited space at the coped steel girder end. There also exists a possibility that the friction grip connection by the reinforcing plate rib is insufficient when the reinforcing plate is fixed to the web. It has been reported that fatigue cracks have propagated following reinforcement. In this study, the effect of a coped steel girder end reinforced by the steel plate pre-stressing method is investigated through loading tests.
