摘要

We studied an old deck truss bridge that had been in use since 1927. The bridge in question had many parts in which steel plates have been used to repair damaged sections, using fillet welds to attach them to the original steel sections. But such weld joints are poorly defined; their relative strength may be fairly low. Then in this study, we determined the fatigue strength property of welded and repaired joint by fatigue testing using specimen which imitated actual stringer and floor beam welded by steel plates of a deck truss bridge. As a result, the fatigue strength of the stringer, the only part of the web to be damaged, was satisfied class E prescribed in the JRA (Japan Road Association).
