A welcome historiographical current is now bringing to light long-neglected links among the histories of technology, science, and economics. In particular, Philip Mirowski, beginning with his 1989 study linking nine teenth-century physics and the origins of neoclassical economics, More Heat Than Light, has consistently made a strong case for studying such connections.
