Trends and Issues in Distance Education: International Perspectives

The world is rapidly shrinking. This is particularly true for education, where deregulation has opened the international marketplace. Now, organizations in one country can more easily offer academic courses or professional training to overseas students. Easier access, however, does not mean successful teaching. Rather, various concerns must be addressed for international education to succeed. One resource for understanding this situation is Trends and issues in distance education: International perspectives. This edited collection examines historical, political, and cultural factors related to the current climate of global education. By using four methods to overview education in international environments, the editors provide educators, trainers, and administrators with a resource for effective teaching and research.
