Q. How can the Cold Chain Federation's new food safety guide help businesses operating cold storage or temperature controlled distribution? A. For the first time, cold chain operators can access a complete and up to date handbook on managing food safety specific to temperature-controlled storage and distribution, bringing together regulatory requirements, certification, practical guidance and our recommendations for managing the key food safety risks in the cold chain.Cold chains are complex and maintaining these standards can require a lot of time spent getting to grips and staying up to date with the full range of regulations, certification schemes, and best practice innovations. We have produced our new guide to help make that process much more straightforward.Ensuring Food Safety in the Cold Chain is designed to make it easier for Cold Chain Federation members to develop, improve and implement food safety plans and processes. The guide is endorsed by BRCGS and it has been produced with support from Federation members and our Primary Authority Partner as well as the Food Standards Agency.
