You recently published a great article on paver installation by Joe Cracco (FHB #248). I'm glad to see a remodeling contractor installing pavers. However, I want to identify a few ways my company does things differently based on 28 years of paver and masonry work. 1. The geotextile fabric should extend to the top of the crusher-run gravel base. Even better, wrap the side of this layer with fabric and extend it 3 ft. over the top. This helps prevent sideways migration of the gravel in soft soils.
