Radiographic Reporting: working together

The Special Interest Group in Radiographic Reporting, discusses Inter-professional Roles and Responsibilities in a Radiology Service, the Joint Document of the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) and The College of Radiographers (CoR) (1998). Early in 1998, the Special Interest Group in Radiographic Reporting (SIGRR) published a document entitled Reporting of Diagnostic Imaging Examinations: An Appraisal of the Documents of the College of Radiographers and the Royal College of Radiologists. In it, the SIGRR advocated the need for the two organisations to begin to work together in order to produce a single document on the complex matter of reporting in departments of clinical radiology. Further, it was postulated that concentration on the reporting function and the underpinning requirements might be a more fruitful approach than merely consideration of whose function it is.
