Damage of forests by game in the light of game management literature review

摘要

The paper is an overview of game management research conducted in Poland and West European countries concerning damage to forests caused by wild ungulates. In the second part of the paper the authors take efforts to provide an objective assessment of the game impact on forest vegetation, effect of techniques used in forest cultivation on the extent of browsing and peeling by ungulates, effect of intrapopulation relationships, atmospheric conditions and physiological state, as well as anthropogenic factors on the extent of damage.
