"H ello, little lady," the gun store clerk leers. "I've got just what you need right here!" Shortly thereafter, our novice female shooter walks out of the store with a pistol that, pound for pound, is worth its weight in feces along with a matching holster that's a shining example of Uz-bekistani manufacturing prowess. She then goes to the range accompanied by a well-meaning husband or boyfriend to learn to shoot the handgun. After a day spent trapped between the increasingly short-tempered instructor and the chauvinistic comments from male bystanders, and further frustrated by her outrageously crappy equipment, she vows to never again step onto a firing line.
