Death and taxes are unavoidable. Firearms-related accidents, on the other hand, don't have to occur. And nowhere is this all-too-common occurrence more avoidable than in the field of what is colloqui-ally called "force-on-force" firearms training.Obviously in other man-on-man training—such as boxing or fighting blades—at least one of the trainees is going to get punched or cut. But this is where protective gear and/or trainer/ marker blades are used, in conjunction with a referee or instructor. So the pu-gilist delivers or receives blows with-out sustaining heavy physical damage, and the pretender to Musashi's throne can safely slash, cut or stab his oppo-nent (or by means of marking or elec-tronic equipment on training blades can assess either his prowess or where he would have been damaged by a real blade in a real contest).
