'LEPTOP': ELECTRO WEAK CORRECTIONS AT LEP1

This lecture is based on a number of papers published during last three years by V. A. Novikov, M. I. Vysotsky and myself (several of them were coauthored also by N. A. Nekrasov, A. N. Rozanov and V. P. Yurov). Th'e list of this papers will be given at the end of the lecture. Further references may be found in them. The subject of our papers is far from being new. When we started there were about 1500 publications on electro weak corrections. Now the number is close to 2000. What was our motivation? We wanted to find a simple and transparent way to calculate and to understand electroweak corrections. We were dissatisfied with the way they were presented in the literature: numbers and graphs produced by computer codes, or very approximate formulas which were so crude that it was useless to apply them to actual experimental data. We concentrated on the unique experimental data provided by the four LEP collaborations: ALEPH, DELPHI, L3, OPAL (ADLO).
