While crack detection in wafers and cells is usually based on optical imaging, RUV Systems from Beringe, Netherlands, is offering a new technology based on resonance vibration modes. The Resonance Ultrasonic Vibrations (RUV) technique was developed for in-line non-destructive crack detection by the Ukrainian researcher Sergei Ostapenko at the University of South Florida in Tampa, USA.
