An Ontological Approach for Translating the ICNP

In the Japanese version, each ICNP concept corresponds to one Japanese term. However, there are some concepts which do not make one-to-one mapping, such as alleviating, relieving and palliating. We extracted core intervention concepts from the ICNP action axis using the Functional Ontology approach [1]. The core concepts are language independent and have a high degree of availability for constructing a general intervention model such as the EN 13940-1 "System of concepts to support continuity of care".
