Overall, the results are favourable to Rouhani, who will seek re-election in 2017. Rouhani has also shown his willingness to work with anyone who wins the elections to help in the implementation of his liberal policies and developing Iran's economy. The election results are also seen as a potential turning point for Iran, where nearly 60 per cent of its 80 million population is under 30 years old and is willing to engage with the international community. The results also indicate that Iran is gradually moving towards more tolerance, openness and greater economic reform.
