Storage Beyond the Data Center

McGraw-Hill Education-Europe provides publishing services for the European professional and higher education markets and is a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies. As in many large organizations, McGraw-Hill Education-Europe had a history of focusing IT attention on its data center. End users were not a big part of the equation. Employees were simply expected to back up to floppy drives or the network, or use a CD burner. Users were expected to do everything; they were responsible for creating their own backups and making sure that they worked.
