The Associated Press reported November 18 that the fed-eral government filed documents on November 15 in the US District Court in Reno, Nevada to ask the judge to dismiss Nevada’s request for a court order that would compel the De-partment of Energy to remove weapons-grade plutonium from the state on the grounds that DOE has already pledged that the material will be removed and no more will be shipped to the state. DOE shipped the material from the Sa-vannah River Site (SRS) in South Carolina to Nevada last year.
