Cuts to Canada's space budget

Along with just about everywhere else in the known world, Canada's space budget for Fiscal year 2012-13 (which began 1 April this year) has been reduced, at $363.2 million down almost 17% from $424.6 million in 2011-12. This is a deeper cut than the 14.4% that was to have been made this year and announced along with the 2011-12 budget proposal. However, the RADARSAT Constellation Mission gets an increase but the biggest reduction ($110 million) comes from an end to the economic stimulus package that began in 2009 to offset the economic stresses of a downturn in the overall economy.
