While many on Capitol Hill are suspicious of China's intentions (see pages 46-47) the core of government is seeking ways to minimise concerns and mitigate damage to trust between space-faring nations. In an attempt to reduce tensions and prevent the militarisation of space, US government agencies are collectively working to prevent the expansion of threats to peace from nations concerned at a US monopoly on space-based technologies for national security and defence.
