Fifty Years of European Cooperation in Space: Building on its Past, ESA Shapes the Future

For many years John Krige presided over an international effort to document the history of the European Space Agency (ESA). That effort led to the publication of an excellent two-volume overview of the organization, a set of monographs on a range of subjects, and a host of other products. Fifty Years of European Cooperation in Space is a synthesis of all of that earlier work into a single-authored volume capturing the history of the ESA for an educated, but non-historian audience. No question, this is an excellent synthesis. Krige is a master of historical research and analysis, and this work clearly shows those traits.
