1. The first three COSMO-SkyMed SAR satellites are in operation; remaining spacecraft will be in operation by 2010rn2. The first Pleiades optical reconnaissance satellite is to be launched in 2010, with the second going up in 2010-11rn3. COSMO-SkyMed/Pleiades (ORFEO) is expected to anchor the proposed GMES pan-European remote sensing effort.
