Commercial Space Backers Petition Congress for Support

A group of 57 space leaders petitioned the U.S. Congress to support commercial human spaceflight in a March 1 open letter. Of the names on the letter, 14 are former NASA astronauts. Former NASA officials - such as Scott Hubbard, the former director of NASA's Ames Research Center - and many in the private space industry also added their names. Some companies had more than one executive sign the letter.
