Space Based Radar Challenging, but Worth the Risks

When the U.S. Air Force announced Jan. 28 a new "way ahead" for its troubled Space Based Radar (SBR)program, it was a measured and proper response to pressures bearing down on the program. Peter Teets, acting secretary of the Air Force and director of the National Reconnaissance Office, is undertaking a monumental effort to reshape the SBR program so it is more responsive to the needs and concerns of the defense community, the intelligence community and Congress.
