Down a Black Hole

Recent comments by Rep. Bart Gordon (D-Tenn.), chairman of the House Science and Technology Committee, concerning President George W. Bush's 2009 budget submittal for NASA missed the mark. Rather than expressing concern that NASA does not have sufficient resources to carry out their assigned missions, the good senator should have questioned the overall NASA mission and its direction. My premise is straight forward — get the mission right and the funds will follow.
