The polish government has announced plans to set up a European Space Agency business-incubation center in Gdansk, on the Polish Baltic Sea shore, with the aim to boost the development of the country's space industry. Meanwhile, Poland is also stepping up its financial commitment to ESA by raising its annual contribution. The space industry incubator could play a major role in enhancing the development of Poland's predominantly privately owned space industry. The country's northern Pomerania region, and, in particular, its largest city, Gdansk, has been attracting an increasing number of foreign and domestic companies.
