MUSIC HEADS OFF INTO THE SUNSET

There is always, always more than meets the eye or the ear in any systems installation. When Dennis Paoletti and John Prohs of sound and acoustics consultancy Shen Milsom & Wilke first laid eyes on what would become the Sunset Theater several years ago, they saw a 75-year-old structure that would present interesting sonic challenges to allow it to accommodate a much wider and more sophisticated range of performances and music types than it had in its long incarnation as the community center in Carmel-by-the-Sea, in Northern California.
